A 27 de Setembro, Catarina Saraiva esteve presente na Convenção Mil, em representação do Grupo Periferias Centrais para falar sobre o Manifesto “Além da Municipalização da Cultura”. A Convenção do MIL teve lugar de 25 a 27 de setembro, no Beato Innovation District, em Lisboa.
Este convite surgiu a propósito do Manifesto feito pelo Grupo “Além da Municipalização da Cultura, a caminho da democracia cultural”, construído em conjunto por todos os membros integrantes deste Think tank.
A participação de Catarina Saraiva, fez-se dentro do painel: Cultura e Democracia: Instrumentos, Práticas e Políticas Públicas.
Neste fórum, O festival Mil pretendeu explorar o papel da cultura como motor de transformação social e promoção da democracia, além de discutir estratégias, desafios e melhores práticas para políticas culturais locais. O objetivo foi afirmar a cultura como um direito e formular propostas concretas para o futuro das políticas culturais e da democracia cultural e participativa.

On September 27th, Catarina Saraiva was present at the Mil Convention, representing the Grupo Periferias Centrais to speak about the Manifesto “Beyond the Municipalization of Culture”. The MIL Convention took place from September 25th to 27th, at the Beato Innovation District, in Lisbon.
This invitation came in light of the Manifesto made by the Group, “Beyond the Municipalization of Culture, on the path to cultural democracy”, jointly constructed by all the members of this Think tank. Catarina Saraiva participated in the panel: Culture and Democracy: Instruments, Practices and Public Policies.
In this forum, the Mil festival aimed to explore the role of culture as a driver of social transformation and promotion of democracy, in addition to discussing strategies, challenges and best practices for local cultural policies. The objective was to affirm culture as a right and formulate concrete proposals for the future of cultural policies and cultural and participatory democracy.
