Artista e pesquisadora, Marina Guzzo concentra as suas criações na interface do corpo e da paisagem, misturando dança, performance e circo ao tensionar os limites da subjetividade nas cidades e na natureza. Desde 2011 tem como centro da sua pesquisa a crise climática e o papel do artista na produção de imaginários para travessias de um mundo em ruínas no Antropoceno. Trabalha em parcerias com equipamentos de saúde, cultura e assistência social pensando a arte como ação política que tece uma rede interespecífica complexa de pessoas, instituições, objetos, plantas, animais, fungos e paisagem. Pós-doutora pelo Departamento de Artes Cénicas da ECA-USP e mestra e doutora em Psicologia Social pela PUC-SP. É Professora Associada da Unifesp no Campus Baixada Santista, pesquisadora do Laboratório Corpo e Arte no Instituto Saúde e Sociedade.
Artist and researcher, Marina Guzzo focuses her creations on the interface of the body and landscape, mixing dance, performance, and circus while stretching the limits of subjectivity in cities and nature. Since 2011, her research has centered on the climate crisis and the role of the artist in producing imaginaries for navigating a world in ruins in the Anthropocene. She collaborates with health, culture, and social assistance organizations, viewing art as a political action that weaves a complex interspecies network of people, institutions, objects, plants, animals, fungi, and landscapes. She holds a postdoctoral degree from the Department of Performing Arts at ECA-USP and a master’s and doctorate in Social Psychology from PUC-SP. She is an Associate Professor at Unifesp in the Baixada Santista Campus and a researcher at the Body and Art Laboratory at the Institute of Health and Society.
Mistura é uma oficina imersiva que propõe um jogo de transformação, onde se pretende forjar um ritual entre pessoas e plantas, e pensar uma mistura coreográfica - como uma brincadeira com as palavras usadas pelo filósofo italiano Emanuele Coccia (2018) que sugere uma metafísica da mistura. Propôr, através do movimento, a criação de uma coreografia comunitária que construa alternativas de mundos interespecíficos, selvagens, não humanos, como forma de resistência ao antropoceno/plantationceno/capitoloceno, reunindo perspetivas que apontam cosmopolíticas desde outras formas de estar no mundo: caule, raízes, seiva, folhas, flores e frutos.
Na oficina, é proposto um jogo de imersão na presença e tempo vegetal, e também na escolha de tecidos, objetos e adereços que possam compor uma mistura entre as muitas "peles" que habitamos. A oficina, plena de atos performáticos, também propõe uma aproximação à cidade a partir do ponto de vida das plantas que nos rodeiam, convidando as pessoas participantes a encontrar gestos que permitam a construção de uma dança comum. E por isso, nada melhor que o maravilhoso Jardim Botânico de Coimbra para acolher esta transformação.
Cada oficina é documentada através de fotografias e um pequeno vídeo que inclui as figuras transformadas e as pequenas danças com as pessoas e as plantas. O vídeo e fotos de Coimbra integrará uma exposição a tomar lugar no Jardim Botânico em 2025.
Até ao momento foram realizadas 7 experiências: Mistura#1 Santos (BR), Mistura#2 Araraquara(BR), Mistura#3 Cádis (ES) e Mistura #4 Pamplona (ES), Mistura #5 Paraisópolis, São Paulo (BR), Mistura#6 Santiago, Centro NAVE (CHI), Mistura#7 Santiago, GAM (CHI). Coimbra será Mistura#8 e a primeira de Portugal.
Mistura is an immersive workshop that proposes a game of transformation, aiming to forge a ritual between people and plants while thinking about a choreographic mixture—drawing inspiration from the words of Italian philosopher Emanuele Coccia (2018), who suggests a metaphysics of mixture. The goal is to propose, through movement, the creation of a community choreography that constructs alternatives for interspecies, wild, non-human worlds as a form of resistance to the Anthropocene/Plantationocene/Capitalocene, gathering perspectives that point to cosmopolitics from other ways of being in the world: stems, roots, sap, leaves, flowers, and fruits.
In the workshop, participants will engage in an immersive experience of plant presence and time, as well as the selection of fabrics, objects, and props that can compose a mixture of the many "skins" we inhabit. The workshop, rich in performative acts, also proposes an approach to the city from the perspective of the plants that surround us, inviting participants to find gestures that allow for the construction of a common dance. Thus, there is no better place for this transformation than the beautiful Botanical Garden of Coimbra.
Each workshop is documented through photographs and a short video that includes the transformed figures and the small dances between people and plants. The video and photos from Coimbra will be part of an exhibition scheduled to take place at the Botanical Garden in 2025.
So far, seven experiences have been conducted: Mistura#1 in Santos (BR), Mistura#2 in Araraquara (BR), Mistura#3 in Cádiz (ES), Mistura#4 in Pamplona (ES), Mistura#5 in Paraisópolis, São Paulo (BR), Mistura#6 in Santiago, at Centro NAVE (CHI), and Mistura#7 in Santiago, at GAM (CHI). Coimbra will be Mistura#8 and the first in Portugal.
